While having a conversation with one of my friends who mentioned this Filipino restaurant located at Jhamsikhel called Cebu Fiesta. The excitement hovered over us as we planned to visit the place.

Following the google map we headed towards the restaurant. The owner of the Restaurant seemed friendly and polite. We’re baffled at the beginning as we saw number of options in the menu as we’d done little research on Filipino platter. So we asked the advice of the restaurant owner to suggest their special dishes.

Highlights of Filipino Cuisine

The restaurant looked cozy which had warm ambience. Every decorative piece of art, craftwork, seashells, music and the musical instrument were designed and placed in a beautiful way. When we interrogated the owner regarding the decoration material she mentioned that every decorative piece was brought from the Philippines.

We’re in love with every piece of detail that the restaurant has showcased. As you enter through the entrance of the restaurant, it greets you with a warm and inviting ambience. After viewing the menu for a while, we decided to order Adobo Chicken Drumstick and Pork Chorizo with extra rice.

The service was also pretty quick. The adobo chicken blended very well with the rice that they served. The combination of soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic in the adobo chicken gave it a slightly sweet and tangy flavor. The portion size was good compared to the price we paid.

The pork chorizo was savory and sweet. The pork used in chorizo is typically fat and has a crispy exterior. It is served with a freshly cooked rice. Rice is soft but not sticky which gave a umami flavor when having with pork chorizo.

Overall, the Filipino cuisine is usually sweet and tangy with the addition of soy sauce and garlic and sesame seasoning on top. The frequent use of ginger, garlic, vinegar and soy sauce gives a rich and flavorful taste to Filipino food. If you are a foodie and loves exploring new cuisine you will love the food but if you are someone who love more spices will eventually love the dish but after having few bites as it may take few minutes to feel and enjoy the flavor.

Compared to other fast food restaurants, the price can be little higher. The hygiene of the restaurant was of top notch and we would love to visit the place again once in a while whenever we crave for the Filipino dish. Everything served is fresh and healthy. The price for Adobo chicken was 690 NPR, Pork chorizo was 350 NPR.

We enjoyed the overall experience as we loved the food and its texture. Today, health is the major factor that we are struggling on. Staying physically fit is one thing but food plays major role in your health. It is said that you are what you eat. So, make a wise decision while making your food decisions. Filipino food is healthy and savory and you’ll not regret trying it once.

Trying out foods from different places has been my hobby, and I wholeheartedly enjoy the process. In a way, it connects you to the people, places, and the local culture that the food represents. Filipino food is healthy as they donot add any extra spices, is authentic and mouthwatering. There are many other options on the menu and you may try it whenever you visit the place.
