5 Days Itinerary of Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Day 1: Pokhara to Bamboo

I took a jeep to Jhinu then from there the hike started officially. As I passed through the bridge the feeling of excitement hovered over me. To be honest, the ascend was quite challenging at first due to the scorching heat. As I passed through the lovely rhododendron forest, terraced farms, and beautiful Gurung village,  the walking became bliss. I found peace in walking alone in a way because I had no pressure to catch up to anybody’s pace or expectation. I stayed at a tea house where I got a chance to chat with other travelers and share experiences.

Day 2: Bamboo to ABC

The Gurung bread as a breakfast fascinated me as it was delicious and mouth-watering. Soon after breakfast, I headed towards Himalaya where you will encounter several streams and small rivers as you make your way to the base camp. Everything happens for a reason, as I was heading to Dovan I met a wonderful German lady who was traveling solo and in some way, we connected to one another. From there, we hiked together all the way to ABC. I still remember the day I reached ABC. It was quite dark and cold at around 6:30 pm and I had a little headache. I think It was because of the cold and high altitude.

Day 3: ABC to Bamboo

Early morning, I was completely stunned when I first saw a view of gigantic snow-capped mountains. We could see quite a lot of things happening at the top of ABC. People sharing joy clicking pictures and enjoying the serene view of the mountains. As we had to bid farewell to the beautiful mountains, we were quite unhappy. That day I descended with lifelong memories of Annapurna Base Camp trek and I stayed in the same teahouse for the night in Bamboo.

Day 4: Bamboo to Jhinu

Sometimes when the weather is not as expected the journey can be quite challenging. So the same thing happened. There was a downpour the whole night and it did not stop until morning. But still, we decided to take a challenge and walked with our rainproof jackets. It was quite tough to walk in the heavy rain but still, with one another’s assistance we made it to Jhinu. We stayed there for the night and everything we’d packed for the trekking was wet.

Day 5: Jhinu to Pokhara

We heard news that there were no vehicles from Jhinu because of the landslide in certain places so we decided to walk from Jhinu. After walking for almost 4 hours we reached Biredhante and from there we finally got a jeep to Pokhara.

Trekking and hiking best season in Nepal

Conclusion:

Sometimes unfortunate events might occur while traveling so we should always be careful and be well prepared for it. As we were not expecting continuous rain for 5 days in the month of October but also instead of waiting for the rain to stop we continued our journey and managed to reach our destination safely. So, the Annapurna Base Camp trek taught me to be patient and proactive. Annapurna base Camp Trek is a highly recommended trek as you will be awed and inspired by the magnificence of the mountains after this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
