Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Well, I do…

Many of us have certain plans for the weekend. Who wants to spend the weekend at home scrolling through their phone or binge-watching movies? Well, some of us do enjoy indoor activities while some of us enjoy going out and exploring places.

On a fine weekend, We came up with the plan to visit Chandragiri Hill. My favorite company would be my mom who also loves travelling.

How to get to Chandragiri Hill?

You can easily get a local bus from Kalanki to Chandragiri Cable Car. Or, the alternative option would be you can hire a taxi and drive to Chandragiri cable car.

The entry fee for the Nepalese National is Rs. 800 for two ways for an adult. For further price details you may click here: Chandragiri Ticket Price

Recently, Chandragiri Hill has become a tourist hub for many foreigners. We encountered with many SAARC as well as other foreign tourists while visiting Chandragiri. We’re in awe as we saw many domestic tourists visiting Chandragiri. The cable car ride is about 15 to 20 minutes. As you ride through the cable car you can see beautiful views of the Kathmandu Valley and nearby hills especially the dense forest. You can also choose to hike if you know anyone who can guide you to reach the top. As we’re not aware of the trail we decided not to hike this time instead took a cable car both ways.

We reached Chandragiri Hill quite early at around 9:30 am. But the view were clear during that time. We’re lucky that we could enjoy the serenity of the nature and take a moment to enjoy the peace of the place. I recommend anyone to go early because you can get clear view and the place is also less crowded if the go in the morning time.

The sole purpose of weekend is to relax so you may choose to visit the place at any time of the day but morning time is best for the view. As you walk to the top of the Chandragiri hill, there is Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple which holds great cultural significance for people here. You can also find restaurants and many local eateries, grocery shop, apparel stores and play station for kids.

You can roam around the place enjoying the panoramic view of the mountain ranges and hills and capture great photographs. In addition to that, they have recently set up a zipline in Chandragiri hill and if you love adventure you can opt for it. There are also other fun games for kids where you have to get a ticket. In this way, we spent our weekend in Chandragiri. We basically enjoy nature walk and outdoor adventure.

As we reached the top of the hill, we can find the view tower from where 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape can be seen. You can chill around the view tower having a good masala tea or coffee and enjoy the panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley.

We explored few eateries at the top and then returned back with a smile in our face and relief in our heart. Overall, we had a relaxing day and such kind of gate away activities helps you to recover and reset from your boredom routine life and start weekdays with a positive energy.

Overall, we had very good experience visiting Chandragiri. This is most probably my third time but not the last visit as I always admire such places which hold strong natural and cultural significance.

I encourage everyone to visit Chandragiri Hill at least once if you are looking for a place to handout with friends or family.
